The Clevy is an innovative and educationally adapted keyboard designed to improve writing and computer skills in early childhood through elementary.
Its design focuses on the growing interest to develop motor skills that will enable and assist in the learning process and are necessary for handwriting.
The attractive design stimulates young children to get acquainted with computers in an educational way.
Coloring
The cheerful colors make this keyboard attractive to work with and also assist children to make clear distinctions between different functional areas of the keyboard.
Key-size
Clevy's keys are four times bigger than the ones of standard keyboards. In addition, the characters on the keys are enlarged to make it easier for children to identify and find the characters.
Number of Keys
The amount of keys on the Clevy keyboard is significantly reduced compared to standard keyboards. Unnecessary keys have been eliminated to solely focus the student's attention on their writing and keyboard skills.
Vertical Key Arrangement
The keys on the Clevy are arranged vertically, as opposed to the diagonal arrangement that we commonly see on standard keyboards. This vertical layout of the keys allows a more optimal positioning of the hands and also makes the keyboard look less "blurry" and therefore easier to navigate.
Key Font
A remarkable feature of the Clevy is the font of the characters. The font is similar to the font used in the traditional education of handwriting. The lower case keys are thus easily recognizable for children.
Keyboard Construction
The Clevy keyboard is much more durable than a regular keyboard. The keys are made of individual switches instead of membranes and are connected to a metal plate.
